SABRI Works has been established as a dedicated workforce development arm of St. Anthony Basin Resources Inc. (SABRI), building on nearly three decades of regional leadership in economic diversification, community investment, and sustainable development. Through this new initiative, we are undertaking a comprehensive three-year Workforce Development Plan (2026–2029) focused on strengthening labour market capacity across 16 communities from North Boat Harbour to Goose Cove East.
Our region faces significant challenges—youth out-migration, workforce aging, sector-specific skills shortages, and limited training access due to geography. At the same time, we have strong assets: established industries, emerging sectors, resilient communities, and committed partners. The SABRI Works initiative is designed to bridge workforce gaps by:
- Conducting comprehensive regional labour market research
- Establishing a coordinated Regional Workforce Development framework
- Launching pilot training programs in priority sectors
- Strengthening employer engagement and employment pathways
- Building long-term sustainability through diversified partnerships
